Proposal For East Garfield Park

During 2014 and 2015, Naught Company developed an Ecological Operating System for the East Garfield Park Neighborhood of Chicago in partnership with local community organizations, the Alderman, and the Chicago Department of Planning and Urban Development.  Download a 1 page overview HERE.

Naught proposed that East Garfield Park will become a test site and production center for this system.

We are undertaking this work in collaboration with community members, artists, architects, designers, manufacturers, digital technology companies, the local Alderman, the City of Chicago, real estate developers, community partners, philanthropies, and an internal board of visionary advisors.

Our work builds off of the recent master plan undertaken by the City of Chicago, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, and Teska Associates.  Download a copy of their Kedzie Corridor Preliminary Study HERE.  In addition, our work builds off of previous neighborhood studies that can be found HERE and a wide range of research (links to which can be found HERE).

Our work is guided by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency of Plannings (CMAP) recommendations.  We have gathered a collection of their work HERE.  Download the full CMAP 2040 Plan HERE.  In addition, we are working with guidance from Bouncing Back: 5 Year Housing Plan 2014-2018.  Download a draft HERE.  Our goal is to extend their policy through specific instances of implementation.
